Emblemtek Solutions Group

Emblemtek is committed to a sustainable and lasting environment.  As a result, we have implemented some basic practices that help promote environmental awareness, both within the Company and throughout the community through our employees.  By highlighting these values, we are able to focus on three important fundamentals ~ the reduction of goods consumed; the re-use of materials and supplies; the recycling of products used in office and manufacturing realms.

Emblemtek’s environmental standards begin with the reduction of consumable goods, an approach that impacts directly on by-product output and related financial expenses.  Simply stated, if it’s not really needed, then we don’t use it ~ or we find an alternative.  Most of Emblemtek’s business processes are managed electronically, giving way to a paperless atmosphere. Compared to historical levels, paper and related toner consumption have been reduced by 75%.  At the same time, many of the Styrofoam products (cups, containers and shipping materials) that once flowed through our facilities have been eliminated.  We are using recycled paper products, biodegradable packaging materials, have reduced the amount of stickers used on product bagging, and will shortly move to brand-free recycled shipping cartons.  In a 24/7 manufacturing operation, more Energy Star® rated components have been installed, and employees are encouraged to turn off lights and equipment that are not in use, all in an effort to reduce energy costs and consumption.

From scraps of paper to scraps of material, Emblemtek re-uses wherever possible.  Shipping boxes, packaging materials, plastic bags, newspapers and wood pallets, to name a few, are all re-used if they are in proper order.  Even small pieces of emblem material are captured and re-used for testing and sampling purposes.  Many of the products that we produce and sell, such as sublimation transfer papers, sublimation inkjet cartridges, image transfer with plastic carrier sheets and wax-transfers with tissue transfer sheets can all be recycled.  Emblems can also be recycled, as would other textile products, and the packaging materials that we’ve chosen, such as plastic emblem bags, cardboard mending patch boxes, shipping cartons, paper wrappings, and plastic or cardboard courier envelopes can all be re-used or recycled by our customers.

Located in a community that is without a structured industrial recycling service, Emblemtek maintains its own self-funded recycling program, which relies on contracted service providers and the commitment of all Emblemtek employees.  At least 80% of what passes through our hands on any given day can be recycled.  Collectively, we fill ten 360 litre recycling containers every month with items such as aluminum beverage cans, glass and plastic bottles, boxes, paper, packaging materials, transfer papers, newspapers, magazines, courier envelopes, plastic bags, plastic courier packs, cardboard material cores, and roughly 1,000 plastic thread cones, all of which would have gone to a landfill.  Further to this volume, items such as toner cartridges, ink jet cartridges, shipping pallets, oils, lubricants, and old computer components are also collected and properly removed for recycling purposes.

Emblemtek encourages everyone to do their share.  The impact on the environment can be measured.  For more information on Emblemtek’s environmental initiatives and policies, please send a note to marketing@emblemtek.com.
